Community Guidelines

Effective date: June 9, 2026

HelpMe Notes feedback is a public, signed-in space for adding to, correcting, and discussing study sheets. These are the rules for posting here — the moderation team uses them to decide what stays and what gets removed.

1. What this space is

Feedback lives directly under every study sheet and is signed in with your account, so other students can see who said what. Use it to flag errors, suggest additions, point out confusing passages, or ask follow-up questions. It is not a forum for off-topic discussion or a place to redistribute the sheets themselves.

2. Be accurate

Study sheets are reference material that students rely on. If you are correcting something, cite the source (a textbook chapter, a lecture slide, a published paper) whenever you can. If you are not sure, say so — a "I'm not certain but I think…" is more useful than a confident wrong answer.

3. Be constructive

Criticize the work, not the person. "This definition of osmosis is backwards" is fine. "You clearly didn't read the chapter" is not. Assume good faith from other contributors; the same goes for the moderation team when we edit or remove something.

4. No harassment

Personal attacks, slurs, threats, doxxing, and any kind of degrading language about a contributor's identity (race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, nationality, etc.) are not allowed. Disagreement about the content is welcome; attacking the contributor is not.

5. No spam or self-promotion

Don't use feedback to advertise a product, service, channel, or affiliate link — including your own. Repeatedly posting the same point across many sheets, or posting in unrelated places to game visibility, is also treated as spam and removed.

6. Don't post AI-only content

It's fine to use an AI tool to help you write a clearer correction, the same way it's fine to use spell-check. It is not fine to paste a raw, unedited AI response as a "correction" or "addition" to a sheet — the reader can't tell who checked the work, and the sheet's accuracy is the whole point. Posts that are visibly AI-only will be removed.

7. How moderation works

A small moderation team reviews reports and patrols the site. The team may edit a post to remove the offending part while keeping the rest, may remove a post entirely, or may warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban the account when the rules are repeatedly or seriously broken. When we remove a feedback item for a rules violation, the author sees a notice that reads "Removed for violating the community guidelines." — we do not publish the specific reason publicly.

8. Reporting feedback

Every feedback message has a report link. Pick the reason that fits best from the list (Harassment, Rules Violation, Spam, AI-generated) and add a note if it helps us understand. Reports are read by the moderation team and are not shared with the post's author.

9. Changes to these guidelines

We will update this page when the rules change and bump the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be called out in the in-product release notes so existing contributors are not caught off guard.
